Course Management System
The Course Management System (CMS) is a resource for North Carolina CTE that provides course, credential and pathway information.
CTE gives purpose to learning by emphasizing real-world skills and practical knowledge, with programs designed to contribute to the student’s broad educational achievements.
CTE Definitions include a list of commonly used CTE terms.
CTE Career Clusters, Pathways, and Program Areas
Career Clusters and pathways help students identify interests and analyze goals so they can link what they learn in school with what they can do in their future workplace.
The Course Inventory contains course descriptions and essential information for each active state-supported CTE course and is organized by program area.
Credentials recognized by NC CTE are verifications of competencies learned, are typically endorsed by business and industry partners, and provide documentation for student mastery of skills required for employment and career advancement.
