Work-based Learning (WBL) is an integral part of all Career and Technical Education courses in North Carolina to show curricular relevance to industry skills.
Public School Units (PSUs) are encouraged to strategically choose work-based learning strategies in alignment with unique needs, considering factors such as local employment demands, available program offerings, resources, and other pertinent considerations. Course Title	Marine Occupations III
Course Description	This locally-developed course includes curricula for the maritime industry from the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER). Course content includes competency-based modules, case histories, step-by-step instructional outlines, and trade terminology. The curricula and corresponding NCCER assessments provide trainees with globally portable credentials and maritime-specific knowledge to advance careers in the industry. Students gain understanding and skills in the following areas: Maritime Structural Fitter-Weld Quality, Tack Welding, Fire Watch, Drawings, Fitting I and Cutting and Burning Processes.
