The North Carolina Office of Career and Technical Education provides multiple opportunities for students to obtain Industry-Recognized Credentials during their high school career.

* Where multilingual exams are indicated, please be advised that the state of North Carolina adheres to general statute as follows:
G.S.§115C-81.45(a) requires classes (silent on exams) to be conducted in English "[e]xcept when a board authorizes teaching in a foreign language to comply with federal law."
Therefore, NC CTE will abide with the Accountability guidance that LEAs are not required to provide exams in other languages. If they choose to do so, it will be at local discretion.

Test Site Options and Requirements	While not required, for optimum performance, it is recommended to initiate the exam on machines equipped with the latest Chrome browser and a hard-wired connection (i.e., desktop computers).

Proctored Requirements	It is left to the discretion of the school district who will proctor the final certification exam. It is the responsibility of the proctor to ensure all certification candidates follow the certification exam rules and guidelines. Exam Time Allotment	The final certification exam is not timed; however, the system will time-out after one hour of inactivity.
Exam Passing Requirement	Each question is worth one pointz and the individual must earn 70% or greater to be recognized as certified.
Retakes	Yes The certification candidate may retake the final certification exam. Retaking the exam requires purchasing an additional voucher.
Student Accommodations	Yes Accommodations and modifications are the responsibility of the district based on DPI requirements. iCEV accommodations include multiple test sessions: exams consist of 100 questions and will be split into four 25-question segments. If this accommodation is needed, a form needs to be submitted 48-hours before the scheduled exam.
