This credential is part of a structured, industry-recognized pathway that supports skill development and career progression in IT and technical support. It validates foundational knowledge in areas such as hardware, software, networking, and basic troubleshooting—making it a valuable entry-level certification for individuals pursuing IT roles. This credential also complements postsecondary education, as the skills and concepts align closely with college coursework in information technology, computer science, and systems administration. Learners can build on this foundation by pursuing advanced Cisco credentials like Cisco Certified Technician (CCT) Routing & Switching or CCNA, and eventually move on to higher-level professional certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA). This progression provides a clear roadmap for success in both higher education and IT careers.
